The beauty myth created by the media in the first place has led to people drastically changing their bodies for the sake of vanity (often coupled with peer/media pressure). Cosmetic surgery has also pioneered skin grafting and techniques such as the gastric band which can save peoples lives and improve their quality of life.

Very good subjects and the right amount of depth, i didnt know we were supposed to do the past and horizons for our post yet though. Keep it up
ReplyDeleteVery good so far. I'd try to look more at why people have surgery and different types.
ReplyDeleteYou need to have separate post sections for each of your time elements for each topic, so
ReplyDeletepresent-surgery, past-surgery, horizon-surgery and the same structure for your food topic.
Please don't have all the sections rolled into one post as it makes it very hard to use the assessment criteria which follows the requirements of the brief without these categories, it's also rather confusing.
There is very little work here at this point and with such a rich topic there whould be a lot more.
ReplyDeleteYou could look at advertisements today for plastic surgery - I see them in the dentist every time I go and I bet they are in most local newspapers. Eye surgery is another one.
The rise is tv programme around the subject of surgery:
surgery gone wrong,
Surgery to make you look more beautiful,
Are there University courses/sham online degrees etc.
Magazines that advocate plastic surgery, or for practitioners.
Academic journals on the subject.
Tools or clothing for surgery (post surgery as well)
What about NHS posters??
